Landfills and Fees

The dumpster business goes something like, customer orders a dumpster, dumpster is hauled to the landfill, landfill filters through the haul and charges the dumpster rental company for any items that are not acceptable and rejected from the haul. What does that mean exactly? At the end of the service, the dumpster rental company has to charge the customer for the fees as it was most likely stated in the rental agreement what could go in the dumpster.

Landfills are also getting stricter on the items they will accept. We try to be diligent in relaying and staying up to date with the type of items they will not accept. When you call BTDT-SA it is very important to be honest with the your dumpster rental specialist as to what items you are disposing of as this will in fact help in avoiding future fees once the dumpster is hauled away. For more details on these terms and conditions, the dumpster rental specialist will send each customer a Restrictions-Conditions document.

Most landfills will not accept hazardous waste, which includes tires, batteries, paints, refrigerators, ac units or bio hazardous waste. There might be an exception at some landfills under specific circumstances, so again, it is important to discuss the details with your dumpster rental specialist. Along with a rental, each customer is given a Hazardous Waste Material Information sheet that will require a signature and is detailed as to what cannot go in the dumpster.

Landfills are very strict as to what they can accept and when they filter a haul for any debris that is restricted or hazardous, they charge the dumpster rental company fees which are passed down to the customer. If you want to avoid extra charges upon pick up, please do not hesitate to call your dumpster rental specialist for reassurance of an item needing disposal.
